It was more my poor swimming technique with a noodle. As there’s not much current I felt I was fighting to cross these areas although I have to say this didn’t feel unsafe, there are plenty of lifeguards stationed who tell you deep areas are approaching. As people have pointed out the depth goes to 8ft in places. wasn’t that lazy for me as I’m not the greatest swimmer. A bit hit and miss if they come to you as they have a lot of choices! Lazy river.

Free food samples given to hold out for the birds. Probably learnt more about birds than any other zoo or park. The aviary was lovely and the staff excellent. Nice touches of rearranging the table display with the flowers and gift towel. Our cabana host arrived a bit later (Jason I think) he was brilliant throughout the day and made sure we had lots of towels and the fridge stocked. It was nice! Alcoholic drinks could be asked for and they stocked some in the fridge. Oh boy he wasn’t wrong! As soon as there was a bag rustle the little blighter appeared! The open end of the decking had 2 sun loungers and a view through the trees to the lazy river. The guide told us to make sure the box was kept closed because of the squirrels. A range of stacks were in a box on the table, lays chips(crisps), nuts etc. This also had a ceiling fan/light and access to power sockets and 2 USB’s to keep the phones charging. There was a gazebo covering about half of the decking with the cabinet a table and 2 chairs under it. A decking area then contained a cabinet with locker, fridge stocked with various Coca Cola products and in the bottom cabinet a bucket a spade for the sand ( nice touch for the kids). There’s a small gate leading to a sand area where a hammock was suspended. The cabana was nestled between trees next to a lazy river entrance. A quick look round the gift shop and we were finally shown to the cabana, a really nice cheery chap who explained everything as we walked.

We returned to guest services to be told the cabana still wasn’t accessible, not really a problem as the park areas don’t fully open until 9. Some nice fruit options although by UK standards the strawberries were only half ripe. Breakfast was ok, not really outstanding but it was a good start to the day. We went to guest services to check in for the cabana but were told that due to a wedding it would be available shortly and to first have breakfast. Check in was easy and the lady very helpful. Prior to our visit we splashed out on upgrading to a cabana. We got there about 7:30 to make sure we experienced everything. The tickets also included SeaWorld and Aquatica. I had booked this as a Black Friday deal in the UK for Discovery Cove with Dolphin swim.
